Outdoor First Aid Annual Refresher
Do you feel that your first aid skills are a little rusty? Feel that you would benefit from refreshing your skills through outdoor first aid scenarios? Does your employer require you to complete an annual refresher as recommended by the HSE? Then this six-hour Outdoor First Aid Annual Refresher is perfect for you!
Learners on our Outdoor First Aid Courses often mention that they enjoyed our scenarios and would like more! Also, clients invariably say how much they have forgotten when they come back after three years for renewal. This course will help ensure that the first aid skills are fresh in your mind for the beginning of the season!
You will sharpen your practical outdoor first aid skills on this one day, six-hour course. Over the day, you will revise CPR, the recovery position, shock and bleeding. You’ll also take part in several realistic scenarios designed to increase your confidence when dealing with casualties and emergencies. At the end of these scenarios, you’ll receive a detailed debrief. You’ll also learn the importance of keeping accurate records. You must have a current and valid outdoor first aid course to attend this course.
Will this course extend my 16-hour outdoor first aid certificate?
This course does not extend the validity of your existing outdoor first aid qualification. You will still need to renew this within the three years listed on your 16-hour certificate. However, this course is an excellent CPD opportunity, concentrating on practical based scenarios.
You may wonder why you should book the Outdoor First Aid Annual Refresher course? More scenarios are the most commonly requested feature in the feedback gathered from candidates on our 16-hour outdoor first aid courses. This course allows you to experience practical scenarios, helping to keep your skills sharp. This course is beneficial if you don’t use your first aid skills particularly often.
Is the course accredited?
Yes, it is! Qualifications Network UK accredited our one-day outdoor first aid annual refresher and is valid for twelve months. Upon completing this course, you will be awarded the QNUK Level 3 Award in First Aid (Annual Refresher) (RQF). You will also receive an Adventure Academy certificate of CPD, reflecting your scenario-based learning.
Course Assessment
During the course, you will undergo continuous formative assessment. After each scenario, you will receive constructive feedback and reflect on your performance. At the end of the course, you will receive summative feedback from your tutor.
To be awarded the QNUK Level 3 Award in First Aid Annual Refresher (RQF), you will complete a practical assessment of your ability to manage a breathing unconscious casualty competently, perform CPR, manage a casualty suffering from hypovolemic shock and manage a bleeding wound.
